It is located in the village of Ålhus on the northern shore of the lake Jølstravatnet. The church is part of the Ålhus parish in the Sunnfjord deanery in the Diocese of Bjørgvin.〔(【引用サイトリンク】title=Ålhus kyrkje )〕 ==History== Ålhus Church was built in 1795, on the same spot as a stave church from the Middle Ages. The white, wooden church was designed by the architect Gunder Gregoriussen Støfringshaug. The new Ålhus Church was restored in 1868 and again between 1947 and 1951.
